In 2019 Roadlab assisted HHO Consulting Engineers to improve the container stacking efficiency of Transnet’s Cape Town Port Terminal, part of a multi-million rand upgrade to critical infrastructure in the Western Cape.

Roadlab conducted Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) testing, concrete coring and sampling for the project between 2019 and 2020.

Data received would enable benchmarking of the various layers to include in a pavement loading analysis and derive pavement-strengthening options for improved container stacking efficiency.

Our testing and quality assurance work within the port terminals formed part of a multi-phase, multi-billion rand upgrade to a facility that is pivotal to the regional economy.
